Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 23, 2026

libregistry ("we," "our," "us") provides a registry and API for library compatibility data. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how you can control it.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name. We use your email to identify your account and link it to your API key. We never receive or store your Google password.

API usage. When you or your agents make requests to our API, we log the request path, timestamp, and response status. This lets us show you usage counts on your account page and helps us maintain service reliability.

API keys. We store a one-way hash of your API key, plus its last four characters for display. We never store your full key — it's shown to you once, at creation, and cannot be retrieved afterward.

Information we don't collect

We don't collect payment information (there is no paid tier at this time). We don't track you across other websites. We don't use advertising networks, and we don't sell your data to third parties, ever.

How we use this information

  • Your email identifies your account and appears on your account page.
  • Your API key hash authenticates your requests.
  • Request logs power the usage statistics on your account page and help us detect abuse or service issues.

We do not use your data for any purpose beyond operating and improving libregistry.

Where your data is stored

Account data is stored in a managed database hosted in the United States. Sign-in is handled by a third-party authentication provider. We choose infrastructure providers that do not sell customer data, and we remain responsible for how your information is used regardless of which providers we rely on.

Deleting your data

To delete your account and all associated data, email hello@libregistry.com. We'll remove your account, API key, and request logs within 7 days of your request.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of libregistry after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
